The Multi-Talented Crystal Hunt – She’s Just Getting Started

From acting to producing, drama to reality, Crystal Hunt has been a master of all she’s done. Her career in show business began with TV commercials, including an anti-drug advertisement that also featured N’SYNC. As a teen attending the Actors Workshop in New York she was discovered by an agent. Quickly she landed her first major TV role, as Lizzie Spaulding on the popular CBS daytime series “Guiding Light”. She played this role for four years and earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Younger Actress In A Drama Series.

Seamlessly, Hunt transitioned from TV to film as well as from playing troubled Lizzie to nice girl Jill Overton in the family feature “The Derby Stallion”. She continued to display her versatility in her next movie, “Sydney White”. A teen romantic comedy and modern take on “Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs”, Hunt played the supporting role of Demetria Rosemead Hodgekiss, opposite Amanda Bynes.

In 2009, Crystal returned to television for a more mature role, as stripper Stacy Morasco on the ABC daytime series “One Life To Live”. Later she took her career in an even more challenging direction when she starred in the Lionsgate thriller “NYC Underground”. Much darker than her previous work, this film centers around four teens running for their lives through Brooklyn after a botched drug deal. After this, Hunt took on the role of Molly in “23 Blast”, a drama about a young football player suddenly stricken with blindness.

It was at this point in her career that Hunt expanded her talents behind the camera. She produced her first feature film with her friend and “NYC Underground” co-start Dania Ramirez entitled “Talbot County”. The film was once again a new direction for the versatile Hunt, a horror feature in the vain of Alfred Hitchcock.

Recently Crystal starred in the documentary reality series “Queens of Drama” alongside such other established soap opera actresses as Vanessa Marcil and Donna Mills. The show follows the ladies as they go about the very real task of developing, pitching and producing their own TV series pilot. It was featured on the Pop Network.

Hunt can now be seen as Lauren in the major motion picture “Magic Mike XXL”. Alongside such other dynamic Hollywood actresses in the film as Jada Pinkett Smith and Andie MacDowell, she sees the role as empowering for women. She is enjoying big screen time in one of the most popular movies of the summer, yet another step in a successful career that is just taking off.

Crystal Hunt Sizzles in Magic Mike XXL

No doubt, daytime television star Crystal Hunt has worked with her share of hotties throughout the years. Now she can add Channing Tatum to that list. Hunt recently starred alongside Tatum in Magic Mike XXL, the sequel to 2012’s Magic Mike.

Both movies drew a noticeable female fan base. This is generally attributed to the fact that the movie is jam-packed with attractive men like Tatum, in various states of undress. Crystal Hunt however, holds high regard for the women, and their characters. When speaking about her role as Lauren in Magic Mike XXL, Hunt commented, “As a woman, it was actually an empowering role and the camaraderie among the females on set was apparent.”

Born in Clearwater, Florida, Hunt displayed artistic talent from an early age, participating in pageants and commercials. She played Stacy Morasco in One Life to Live, and snagged a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 2005 for her role as Lizzie Spaulding on the long-running series Guiding Light.

Hunt’s most recent work is “Queens of Drama,” a new docu-series coming to Pop. Along with other former daytime and prime-time actresses, Hunt tries to sell ideas for a new show to producers. “Similar to the strong women portrayed in Magic Mike XXL, we’re a group of strong women from daytime and primetime dramas,” she said. “We’ve discovered a way to use our extensive experience in the ‘soap opera world’ to create a script that’s truly unique and original.”

Jurassic World Breaks Records

Jurassic World  had a strong opening in the past weekend. It has beat out Avengers for the biggest opening. Of course it is to be expected. Jurassic Park is one of the most popular franchises with the first one being released and impressing audiences back in 1993. Jurassic Park has since spawned 3 total sequels including this film. The first sequel was The Lost World which was deemed inferior overall, but has still made enough to warrant another sequel. Jurassic Park 3 was perhaps the weakest of the bunch.

Jurassic World seems to be a return to form. Chris Pratt has definitely put in a good performance. He is signed on for sequels to this film. The film has reportedly made $209 million which beats out The Avengers opening in 2012. As of now, Jurassic World has the biggest opening weekend for a blockbuster as reported by CipherCloud in a Forbes box office article. There is a lot of factors that contributed to the film. One factor is the nostagia for the 1993 film. Another factor is the popularity of Chris Pratt. There are plenty of other factors that contribute to the success of the film.
